April 2015 In Brief

4035. Installed Tcl and began going through the help file, and demo applications that resembled Java demos, downloading later a real book in pdf format.

4046. Began studying the Tcl language using the Wikibook downloaded yesterday, trying out examples.

4131. Got to the end of the Wiki book on Tcl, rounding up initial evaluation of the language prompted by its support for SQLite. MoneyBooks Data Manager revision 2.14 was created to handle a change in Fanbox transaction heading format.

4153. Shifted attention later in the day to implementing the EPPMS revision discussed at a client meeting last month, showing summary information for newly-active and newly-inactive employees.

4164. Completed implementing the report on added and removed employees, and a section for this in the comparative payroll summary in EPPMS.

4175. Completed the update installer CD for EPPMS. A client came for the installation of MoneyBooks on their new Windows 8 hp laptop.

4201. Spent the afternoon at EPPMS client’s location, updating the software installations.

4212. Began revising the advanced EPPMS training courses, as such training was discussed by the client last month, nearly completing the supervisor course.

4223. Completed detailing the EPPMS course write-ups for the two categories of trainees (supervisor and manager) and emailed client with the download links. Began implementing EPPMS version 4.38 revision that will include comparative pensions summary report, similar to the one implemented for Payroll last year. Another client called for MoneyBooks support, wanting to know how to access a PSR file they created by exporting a generated report.

4234. Worked on the EPPMS 4.38 revision, implementing server and then client code for the pensions comparative summary reports.

4245. Completed the primary revision work on EPPMS in the evening.

4256. Did some more revision work in EPPMS, especially creating the update installers, and this got us thinking about including the update process in the supervisor course. In EPPMS we sorted out an old image display issue on Windows XP, that saw the logo image sometimes not being displayed on the main window.

4271. The second visit to the EPPMS client to update their systems was successful, although some time was spent debugging SQL code when something didn’t work out.
